With one exception, these date from 1863 to 1925, during which time Niles Searls was in practice with his son, Fred Searls, and grandson, Carroll Searls. Searls' files particularly relate to the settlement of land tenure issues, estates, and mining interests in the West, although a small amount of family correspondence is also included.
